Senior Project Manager

Definitive Logic is looking for a skilled and experienced project manager to lead the sustainment and enhancement of a large-scale, data-centric platform.  The position is to serve as the project manager of one or more information technology business transformation programs focused on commercial government services corporations. You will perform program management and oversight to ensure successful program performance, and you will work closely with internal and customer executives to manage project scope, expectations and delivery. You will be responsible for overall contract and staffing performance, client deliverable quality and submissions, and serve as a client’s point-of-contact for contractual matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Senior, business-oriented project manager who can serve as the interface between business and IT on a high profile, strategic initiative.
  • Perform project management activities related to implementation of complex software projects for financial management programs.
  • Foster an environment that adapts quickly and focuses on agile development principles.
  • Maintain creative, production, and technical goals set forth by our teams and clients.
  • Coordinate the planning and initiation of multiple projects.
  • Monitor project schedule, budget and status.
  • Communicate with project teams, management and other stakeholders.
  • Capture and record meeting notes and ensure action items are completed promptly.
  • Ensure solutions to technical problems through discussion with technical teams to resolve problems.
  • Partner with development team members to understand opportunities and limitations of solutions being implemented.
  • Effectively balance the needs of the client, as well as the needs of the agency and internal teams.
  • Interface with application development teams on the design and build of the new platforms.
  • Interface with the business to define desired business outcomes. • Use accepted project management methodologies.
  • Capture and record meeting notes and ensure action items are completed promptly. • Ensure solutions to technical problems through discussion with technical teams to resolve problems.
  • Partner with development team members to understand opportunities and limitations of solutions being implemented.
  • Work closely with the product and account leads to remain in full communication on the status and details of each project, including any cost or timing issues that may arise.
  • Anticipate any potential issues with the project through quick responses and proactive critical thinking.
  • Demonstrate skilled problem-solving capabilities to determine solutions and options to resolve problems.
 
Qualifications:
  • 10 years of project management experience including transition of legacy to modern technologies.
  • 5 years of senior level experience communicating or coordinating with management, technical staff on commercial IT projects.
  • Ability to operate at a director level but can also manage agile schedule and implementation details.
  • Ability to learn and contribute to technical discussions on database, data integration, and software configuration methods.
  • Strong leadership and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience working with government services industry corporations is a plus.
  • Certified Agile Scrum Master.
  • Secret Clearance Eligible.
